Chiropractic Administrative Assistant
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient records, verifying insurance information, handling patient communications and assisting with daily operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality while creating a welcoming and professional experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification to confirm coverage accuracy
- Review, validate, and update patient insurance information in internal systems
- Conduct outbound calls to healthcare providers and insurance carriers for eligibility, benefits, and coverage inquiries
- Document verification results, call notes, and insurance details clearly and accurately
- Identify discrepancies in coverage and escalate issues as needed
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate insurance processing
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Strong time management abilities and comfort working with deadlines.
- Excellent record-keeping and documentation practices.
- Ability to multitask effectively across cases and communication channels.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documents and case data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a chiropractic, medical, physical therapy, or healthcare office setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, chiropractic procedures, and healthcare office workflows.
- Experience scheduling appointments and coordinating patient care.
- Understanding of insurance verification, prior authorizations, billing, and claims processing.
- Strong customer service and patient relationship management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office technology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with providers and clinical staff.
